About the vacancy

Our client is a global financial services group that provides some of Europe’s most important infrastructure for securities trading, clearing, and custody. The group recently started a multi-year program to create an entirely new ecosystem for digital assets trading, based on a microservice architecture with digital ledger technologies.

The expected project team will reach 30 to 40 people organized in 4-5 feature teams following Domain Driven design and managed using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Technology stack: Kotlin, Javelin, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Cucumber, Openshift, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building high-quality solutions that contribute significantly to the revenue of the business unit
  • Developing software in Lean/Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban or SAFe) with cutting edge technology stack, Digital Ledger Technologies, and micro-service architecture
  • Ensuring compliance with challenging non-functional requirements regarding performance, scalability, and resilience
  • Tight collaboration with the product owner and other team members to provide robust requirements and necessary technical documents
  • Working in a cross-functional motivated team with high skills and challenging goals
  • Support in the implementation of DevOps, such as CI / CD pipeline, test automation, agile process improvement, etc
  • Regular onsite business trips to Zurich, with option of longer onsite presence (6 months or more)

Must have

  • 5+ years of web applications development experience following Lean/Agile methodologies (SCRUM at a minimum)
  • Team player with initiative and result-oriented attitude, and a good sense of quality
  • Experience in leading a team of 7-10 people, and working in/with distributed teams.
  • Good spoken English
  • In-depth experience in JAVA backend development JEE, EJB, Spring, ORM, IoC containers, web services, REST APIs, and SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience in microservice architecture, including technologies like JMS, Kafka
  • Knowledge of project assembly tools (Maven, Gradle)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Subversion)

Would be a plus

  • Experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, SaltStack, Splunk, OpenShift
  • Programming skills in Kotlin
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure
  • Experience in Web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript)
